Highlights from MamaCon 2019
Oct 29, 2019
On Saturday, October 26th we hosted our 4th annual
MamaCon and it was by far the biggest and best event in our 5-year history. Here are just a few of the moments that made it a smashing success for our team and for the 100 mamapreneurs in attendance.
The keynote address by Jill Stanton of
Screw the Nine to Five gave our mamas chills, especially when she forced us to contemplate the question: "Am I playing to win, or playing to not lose?" In fact, it was such a hot topic we're still talking about it days later!
The ladies of
Momjo made us LOL when they shared their parody videos and how far they have come in just a few short years. They inspired us to work through the fears that hold us back and gave us some stellar video tips as well.
Our Title sponsor Tammatha Denyes of
TD Accounting Services encouraged us to reimagine our financial future and answered some of our most burning questions about business finance. Our other Title Sponsor Cynthia Mason of
Mason Professional Corporation also brought the goods and inspired us to think like the "big brands" and protect our business ideas.
We are so grateful to have had Nathalie Amlani of
Pictonat Branding Photography as our Photography Sponsor this year. Natalie helped us raise over $1,000 for the Mamapreneur Fund through her headshot initiative, and snapped some pretty stellar shots of the day (follow us on social to see what we mean in the coming weeks as we share more of her work).
We were also very lucky to have so many incredible sponsors this time around who helped us make the day possible!
For many, the highlight of the day was celebrating this year's
Mamapreneur Fund winner, Kirsten Jordan of
Mat Leave Map. Her touching words of gratitude were the perfect ending to the perfect day. We also acknowledged Rebecca Saha of
Tiny Toy Co. who finished in 2nd place, and Joyce Lim of
Sprout Collection who was our 3rd place winner.
But perhaps the most touching moment was when our Founder and CEO
Lianne Kim brought her family on stage to thank them for all their support and to remind all of us that, as she put it "our kids need to see us shine, because we are the example of what is possible for them."
We are so grateful for everyone who attended and made this our most special day of the year and we are overjoyed to be welcoming over 25 new members who joined our community over the weekend.
We are so excited for what's next for our community in 2020 and beyond.
